State of the art gait analysis

The advantage of the FDM-T comes from its seamless integration with treadmill systems, such as those produced by h / p / cosmos. The supplied software developed by zebris automatically compensates for the movement of the treadmill, so the analysis of the gait pattern is as stable as it would be on a stationary platform. These two factors help capture natural movement, whether walking, running or jumping, giving the operator the most accurate analysis of gait and distribution yet.

Along with gait analysis, the FDM-T allows real-time rehabilitation. Using the evaluation software, gait training can be performed in a virtual running environment, where both patient and doctor can get instant visual feedback on their steps. This allows them to make fine adjustments as part of an integrated therapy session. In addition to this, the operator can gradually increase the difficulty of the environment, adding slopes and obstacles in the way.

In order to fully optimize the FDM-T for your personal needs, there is a range of complementary accessories for the system. The FDM-T is fully equipped for video sync, to further capture the patient's gait and gait cycle. Using SYNCCAM software, the virtual runtime environment and test conditions can be improved quickly and easily. In addition, the software available for the FDM-T provides the ability to print multi-page “reports”, which include detailed results and patient-specific tables, including comparisons between previous walk tests.

Measuring the pressure distribution on the treadmill becomes child's play!

Treadmill gait analysis makes it possible to observe human gait at different running speeds with a high number of step repetitions. Depending on the application, you can evaluate multiple walking cycles at constant or variable speed using the FDM-T analysis center on the treadmill. At the same time, it covers all the other applications around the analysis of walking behavior - from posture to gait analysis to body roll and gait analysis.

The FDM plantar pressure distribution measurement system


The basic FDM-T measuring system consists of an instrumented treadmill platform with instruments and the computer connected via a USB interface. For a running surface of 150 x 50 cm the sensor has more than 5,000 pressure / force sensors. All FDM-T systems are equipped in their standard form with a video synchronization output for time synchronization with the video camera. The time synchronization with the optional wireless DAB radio adapter is performed via an infrared interface. The radio adapter is connected to the computer via a Bluetooth interface and can be fitted with up to eight EMG amplifiers or inertial sensors for motion analysis and animation of a model skeleton. Depending on the design, the treadmill platform can have an additional input and output that allows any other external device to be synchronized.

Thanks to a technology specially developed by zebris, the movement of the treadmill is compensated so that completely stable walking and rolling movements can be analyzed.

Superior image quality

The new Zebris FDM measuring system works by using very high quality capacitive force sensors which are arranged in a matrix shape composed of 0.8 cm2 (0.12 ") sensors. Each sensor produces its own calibration curve. The measuring plates allow the analysis of the static and dynamic distribution of the forces under each foot when standing or walking.

All FDM-T systems are fitted as standard with a video synchronization output for time synchronization with the video camera. The optional camera module includes a high-quality video camera with stand, a wide-angle lens, and all cables necessary for operation, synchronization and software expansion
